Why Drupal
The main competitor for Drupal may well be Mambo / Joomla as seen on Google Trends. Keep an eye on that graph for the future though to see the Drupal graph's growth.
We choose to develop in Drupal, as opposed to the other CMSes listed above, because of its very clean and clear code base, the quality of its contributor user base and community, its strong API (Application Programming Interface), its stability and security, its scalability, its modular design, its access control systems, the ease with which it may be extended and its extensive database of meta and regular modules with many of the same benifits as the Drupal core.
Your Drupal solution with Burtronix benifits from all the other items listed on this page. It is supported by Burtronix and Azaro, it is Open Source Software, it is licenced under the GPL and it is written in PHP.
Why PHP
PHP is the most used programming language for Rapid Application Development on the 'Web. Check out the statistics at TIOBE for reference with other languages. PHP is GPL Licensed and therefore also Open Source software.
Why Open Source
The most notable benifit of Open Source Software is its nature of full disclosure of the underlying code base. This allows hundreds of thousands of people to review the system on a continued basis which leads to quality control levels and surety on security that cannot be rivaled by closed systems. The open nature of the constituent parts of the software allows for easy customization and rapid custom application development. With so many people familiar with the source code, support and solutions development is a free market for a client with many companies and individuals available.
The benifits of Open Source leads to its dominance in the market in many fields from our own 'Web market (with Apache which serves most of the sites on the Internet, MySQL which serves most of the databases on the Intenet and PHP which is still growing in usage even as it is already the most used of its kind of programming language).

Why GPL
The GPL (GNU General Public License) is a software licence known as one of the copyleft licences. Essentially, it is free software and preserves the free nature of the software for future distributed development. The GPL also means any software licensed under it will be Open Source software. For our clients this means you do not pay for the software we use (Drupal, Apache, PHP, MySQL and more) but only for the service we offer in implementing them. Burtronix, therefore, will always have to add the significant value it has become known for to our product offerings and service levels.
